Earth Fault and Short-Circuit Indicator

  • FPI.10 is the new Earth Fault Indicator and Phase Fault Indicator, with extended functions: selectable values of earth and phase trip-currents, automatic time reset, low-voltage and remote reset, pushbutton test and reset, signalling by flashing LED.
  • FPI.10 has 3 split-type resin current transformers, so it can be installed without MV cables disconnection.
  • FPI.10 has SCADA contact for remote signalling and option for external remote indicator.
  • FPI.10 is self-powered by lithium battery with 10-years lifetime for trouble free operation.

Our short-circuit earth fault indicators are intended to be used on MV networks cable, likes underground cables, switchgears or transformer interconnection. Because of the various CBCT sizes and protection relay functions they can be used in a large number of applications.

The complete indicator device consists in: reading instruments, current transformers and link cables. The reading instrument is available for wall-mounting. The reading instrument is the component that evaluates the detected short-circuit currents against the trip levels. The instruments is equipped with relay contact for remote indication and reset.

If the phase or earth current exceeds the trip level, the indicator will signal it by a flashing LED. The reset can occur automatically by preset time, by closing an external contact, or manually by means of the pushbutton. It is possible to carry out a function test both by the pushbutton or by an external contact.

Fault indicator devices are provided with the incorporated lithium battery.
